WHO WE ARE

• MSATE / MSSUA was established in 1990 and has approximately 200 active members in eight regional centres (Ostrava, Přerov, Brno, Olomouc, Zlín, Břeclav, Šumperk, Jihlava).
  

We have organized seven national and international conferences:

2005 ELT Signposts 2005, Brno;
2003 ELT Signposts 2003, Brno;
2001 Zlín; 1999 Zlín;
1997 Kroměříž;
1995 Brno;
1993 Karviná.

We also organize regional seminars and workshops.
Our Newsletter is published twice a year.

• MSATE / MSSUA has been accredited by the Ministry of Education and, as a result, Regional Centres Přerov, Ostrava, Břeclav, and others are going to hold seminars which are accredited by MŠMT. Our members will be informed about the programme by the regional heads and o­n our website. MSATE members are entitled to a reduced fee. Each participant will receive the certificate of attendance after each seminar.
  

• o­n October 7 Tools for Professional Development, our joint event with Teacher Development IATEFL SIG, was held in Ostrava. It was also co-organized by the language school in Ostrava, where Tools took place.
  

• Our members can also profit from twenty-five reduced IATEFL UK basic memberships through the Wider Membership Scheme. They are allocated to our members for a period of o­ne year and cost o­nly 400 crowns. The membership is valid till the end of September 2006 and we are entitled to twenty-five memberships from September 2006 to September 2007.
  
  As a member of IATEFL UK you receive six issues of the IATEFL Voices, information o­n conferences and seminars, you may attend any IATEFL event at the reduced member rate and you get the opportunity to subscribe to o­ne of the fourteen SIGs (Special Interest Group) for £12.
  

• There are about 80 teacher associations in the whole world affiliated to IATEFL UK. MSATE / MSSUA has the associate agreement with IATEFL UK and the partnership agreement with ATECR, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the Ukraine.
  
  Our members are regularly informed about their events and the opportunity to represent our association. They do not have to give a presentation, but they have to write a report o­n the event for our Newsletter.
